Staying Out Of The Devil’s Territory
2Ti 2:24-26 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, (25) In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; (26) And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
These scriptures tell us that we can do things that will allow Satan the upper hand and make us his prisoner. Years ago I found myself in this position. My Pastor promised to do something for our church and then changed his mind. He had the right to change his mind, every person has that right.
I know the bible says that a person who promises to do something should stick to his word, but even God wouldn’t make him if he chooses to change. I would not let the matter drop and told the whole church about it. I dishonored the man God had set over me.
That act opened the door for Satan to take me prisoner at his will. Things started going wrong in my life and ministry and I never made the connection between my problems and what I had done to my Pastor.
Four years later I went to Haiti and held a very successful outreach in that country, but I left there with pain throughout my body. I began to apply the principle I had used for twenty or more years with success but nothing worked.
After 29 days of 24 hour constant pain with no relief from the word of God or medicine, I finally asked God what was wrong. After revealing how I had given the devil place, I repented to my Pastor, asking his forgiveness. He did and the pain and problem disappeared. That day I went to the park and played 3 games of volleyball and was the hottest thing on the court at 58 years of age!
Six years have passed and I am still enjoying my freedom from the snare of the enemy.
Watch how you think, speak or pray about any leader. They are ordained and anointed of God and He said do not touch them negatively in word, thought or deed.
Act 23:5 ERV Paul said, “Brothers, I did not know this man was the high priest. The Scriptures say, ‘You must not say bad things about a leader of your people.'”
Pro 21:23 ERV People who are careful about what they say will save themselves from trouble.
